It has been argued that it is impossible to pursue work that fundamentally challenges institutional frameworks when working with an institution, with all the historical and commercial associations that these entities are party to. On the other hand it has also been argued that, in order to challenge the fundamentals of an institutional framework, one must operate from inside.

08 Return of the Periphery

Kitchen Budapest is offering guest researcher positions in 2008 for dedicated profesisonals, artist, engineers, interested in the convergence of new media and actual spaces, cultural experiences, new communities, and are highly motivated to create such projects in teams.

Beyond personal skills we are very much interested in team work and collaboration skills, as all projects at our lab have to be produced in teams. It is the task of the researchers to raise interest within our community and get others on board.

Fluxus live coding workshop

It is a practice where software that generates music or visuals is written and manipulated as part of the performance. It emphasises the expressive possibilities afforded by programming languages as a means for defining and manipulating computational processes.
